I have been practicing different styles of yoga over the last 20 years and have experienced first-hand the challenges of maintaining a yoga practice whilst working in the corporate world, being pregnant and a busy mum! There are many yoga postures which I have found challenging and have worked through some (not all!) of them - and love to share these tips with my students.
My classes are based on the Ashtanga Yoga tradition - this is a wonderful practice combining physical and mental strength, flexibility and patience. Apart from the physical benefits of doing yoga, there are greater benefits include learning to breathe, a calmer and more focused mind which has less "chatter", and more self-confidence. I believe that what we learn on the yoga mat about ourselves, we can then apply it off the mat.
I also teach Prenatal/ Antenatal Yoga. Having had 3 children I know the challenges of having a beautiful pregnant body, which can at times feel heavy and uncomfortable. Prenatal Yoga can not only help a woman during her pregnancy but also labour as well. In my class, I share all the tips which helped me experience labour in a positive and natural way. My prenatal yoga classes are open to all women beyond their 12 weeks of pregnancy. No former yoga experience is required.
I have studied under the guidance of world-renowned yoga teachers both in Asia and Europe. I am a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals. This accreditation demonstrates excellent standards as set by Yoga Alliance Professionals.
